Who, what and howThe founders of NELA are an alliance of organization leaders and consultants with wide-ranging and diverse experiences who believe the ‘networked’ economy is an evolutionary advance in organization. While basic economic principles governing the networked economy continue in force, organizational and management challenges are often significantly different from those of the ‘old economy’ and will require significantly different responses for success. We in NELA have committed ourselves to helping organizations make the transitions these challenges require and sharing with and learning from one another about how best to navigate as managers and consultants in this still-developing environment. IntentionsOur first intention is to join our efforts with those of other organization leaders, managers, information technologists and consultants in sharing experiences, knowledge and imagination related to managing and organizing in the networked economy. We will focus on subjects such as:
Our second intention is to continue developing and providing an array of management consulting services that assist organizations and people to respond effectively and enjoyably, when possible, to the issues of their era. These services will be provided through an alliance of consultants and advisors with high competence in their special areas. Our BiasesWe favor authenticity over ‘political correctness’. When our point of view is contrary to the prevailing consensus we will nevertheless express it (with appropriate humility, we hope) and we will similarly encourage others in our community. We believe that perfect learning requires a continuing expansion and extension of perspectives. We have found that all generalizations are subject to important exceptions (including this one). Learning the exceptions expands ones perspectives. Learning the sources from which both generalization and exceptions come extends them. Link to the NELA OrgScan directors
